For this design Richard used a very high resolution image of a traditional Persian carpet and zoomed it on the pixel. These pixels where than stretched to stripes from a very precise point. The colors of the stripes come directly from the original picture/carpet. This image than was sent to India, where it was used to knot the carpet. Digital pixels became hand knotted craft. 2000 years of cultural evolution are combined in one piece. The production of 1 carpet takes half a year. Materials: Wool and silk.
